Just because the service is paid paid for hourly and based upon the number of valets this does not mean you should not tip....$1 better then nothing ,$2 average, if you have a date anything less then $5 should be embarassing...remember they are taking care of your car probabaly worth thousands of dollars, its most likely not that often you even park valet, and your valet is not going out that night becasue he or she is there to make tips, like a waitress!

If valet is complimentary at the restaurant or event you are attending, you should tip no less than $5. Valet is a luxury and should cost more than parking yourself in a parking ramp or lot. If there is a curbside charge for valet, then a $2-$3 tip is acceptable.

If you plan on throwing a big tip ($20 to $100+) do it before you park for extra special VIP service. High-end venues are accustomed to $20 tips which will certainly get you VIP treatment for one visit, but if you want the valet to remember you EVERY visit treat them to a $50 or even a $100 for VIP treatment in the future.
